More than 100 dead in Milan plane crash
There's no evidence as I post this that this has anything to do with the WTC / Pentagon attacks, or the retaliatory attacks by the Allied forces...still, a Cessna that comes out of nowhere seems odd to me, fog or no fog...

The authorities have denied any speculations about terrorism in connection with this accident. The occupants of the Cessna were two Germans and two Italians. It may be an odd accident, but all the same there is no need to stir up emotions.

Wasn't trying to, I was just stating what I knew at the time. That article has now been edited to give information on who owned the Cessna. Looks like it was just a tragic accident.

You've obviously never seen Po Valley fog. A 747 could come from nowhere out of that.
It never ceases to amaze me that people will calmly do 100 mph on the Autostrada del Sole when they can't even see the front of their car.

It is a tragic accident. I'm surprised it happened at Linate, which seems better organized than Malpensa. But human fallibility often manages to overcome even the best organization.

No I've not. I have been at Linata though, about 5 years ago.

Norwegian press is pointing out that last year, flight controllers at Linata were done for playing football during working hours instead of looking after the planes. (down near the bottom, sorry I've not found this in English language reports)

Of course, we all like to have someone to blame. Makes the world so much more manageable.

True true, my family live in Milano, maybe 20 minutes from Linate and everytime I'm there, there is always a fatal accident on the autostrada. And yes the fog over there is bad ass. Sometimes when you stand on one side of a narrow street, you can't see the other side.

Yes, but it's very hard in times like these to avoid the suspicion and panic that any tragic accident, especially one involving planes and lots of innocent civilians, is terrorist related.

Just think... The world was so different less than one month ago :(
