thanks for posting this - i'd heard the news on the radio this morning & wondered if he'd published anything on the current attacks, but his last published piece was apparently on august 26th.

The man was definitely an institution and a cornerpiece of the Washington Post. I always thought his cartoons were dull, predictable and anything but humorous, but I suppose that's besides the point right now.
