Festivids!

Festivids is a holiday fanvid exchange that, much in the spirit of Yuletide, focuses on less popular vidding fandoms. Subjects include Mythbuster's Buster, Mad Men's Peggy Olson, and Maru. The full masterlist is here.

All I saw were a bunch of padlocks in some white fields. Are they supposed to represent the metal pole in Festivus?

Huh, weird. They seem to work for me in chrome, both incognito and with cookies enabled. Maybe vimeo is using flash?

Try these alternate links.

Peggy Olson Mad Men

MythBuster's Buster (password: festivids)

Maru here (password: kitties) or here vid.

The Peggy video really needs a shot of Peggy riding circles in the studio.

Looking at that picture you posted mochapickle, I thought to myself "now there's a scene ripe for an animated GIF."

Fortunately, the Internet did not disappoint.

Oh cvp, that's awesome! Tried to find video but this is even better.

I guess I just don't see the holiday connection - especially at this, the time of year where mentions of the December holidays are most unwelcome.

This is a gift giving festival/setup, but vidding is time intensive. The vids were requested several months ago and they were made as gifts for the people who made requests such as: "I would love to see a vid in such and such fandom, with these characters." They actually went live a few weeks ago, closer to the end of the holidays, and at that time, they were all anonymous, no names attached. What went live this week was the reveal -- the names of the vidders who made each vid.

There's probably also some intentional timing here so as not to overlap with Yuletide, because everyone is pretty focused on the stories going live, and many of the vidders need the time to participate in Yuletide as well.
