Why not avoid the commercial Hallmark Holiday trappings by making your Valentine a personalized art-piece this year? Over at The Technique Zone, Sam gives simple sequenced photo tutorials on how to make an acrylic paint transfer on card or canvas, beeswax frontispieces, a slide mount box, sooty stamped cards.
Those are some nice ideas. The acrylic paint transfer also works with acrylic gel medium. I have been thinking of making something along the lines of this, on a smaller scale.
I also love the idea of making something with a freezer paper stencil.

Yea, I really liked this. Will be sharing these links with my crafty relatives, who will squeal with joy at new techniques to try.

My wife (a great cook) and I (an enthusiastic amateur baker) celebrate Valentines by make elaborate and difficult meals. She makes dinner I make dessert, we collaborate on appetizer and salad.
But, that transfer idea was pretty neat (actually they all are).
