Romney vs. Gingrich

How the GOP race became a showdown between a walking OCD diagnosis and a flatulent serial adulterer.
This post was deleted for the following reason: The whole Matt-Tiabbi-Writes-Another-Political-Piece thing has kind of gotten done a lot on mefi at this point, if it's not something that's specifically extra important it probably doesn't need a post, otherwise it needs to be clear why it's an exceptional case. -- cortex
There's also the dog rapist, or whatever he is. Google it or something.

What's eerie is I came here to say the exact same thing as codacorolla.

I'm going to go ahead and not Google "dog rapist". I'll resign myself to just not knowing that particular story.

This isn't part of some clever but inscrutable master plan, put on by the hidden hands who run this country, to fool or distract the masses. This is an unscripted fuck-up of heroic dimensions, radiating downward from the highest levels of our society, playing out in real time for all of us to watch. Our oligarchy has thrown a rod.Have to disagree. The GOP is simply irrelevant to the oligarchy this season.

I submit that this is pure unadulterated truth, and the fact that our "lamestream media" isn't allowed to report it as such is part of how we got to this point.

It doesn't matter who gets the GOP nomination. They'll cast him as awesome and patriotic and not at all like that commie asshole muslim brown guy from kenya in the white house, and something on the order of 40% - 45% of the US population will vote for the OCD serial adulterer dog rapist or whatever.

I knew it was Taibbi before I even hovered over the link. That man can turn a phrase.
Yeah. Don't know what it says about me or Taibbi but I had the same reaction.

Two weeks out of date, but if that means Taibbi is gonna take his pen to the upside of Rick Santorum's head next, I gleefully look forward to my next bout of helpless chortling.

The key to enjoying Taibbi is to not read him if you know something about the topic.

I knew it would be Taibbi, and I'm not surprised the first comment was also acknowledging that fact. The man is not one for subtlety.
