A tiny owl getting a head rub. That is all.

I have never actually met a bird that wouldn't take a good-sized chunk out of your hand for that.

That was way too cute, I wouldn't have thought an owl would put up with that.

D'awwww!

That was almost cute enough to make me forget that owls are implacable and remorseless killing machines.

Owls are totally the cats of birds. You can almost hear it purring.

This may seem cute, but never forget: owls are relentless killing machines. This "cute" owl will one day betray its master and literally bite the hand that, we can assume, feeds it. It will be a violent affair. The owl will be wounded but will ultimately prove victorious. After finding a place to hole up and recover from the battle, the owl will hatch a plan to take vengeance upon humanity for the humiliation he received by having this video posted on the Internet for all to see. He will be coming for us. One by one, he will come for us all.

Never forget. Owls are killers.

Sweet mother of God, I had no idea what I was missing by not being able to give owls headrubs. Another one for the bucket list. THANKS A LOT, Metafilter.

Once we have Nyan-owl, the confusion will be complete!

All that owl needs now is a dead bat and his day is complete.

This was so cute that I want to get a baby owl and raise to it be a remorseless killing machine, bent on the subjugation of my enemies. I'll name him "Bitey".

Anyone considering owning an owl as a pet should read this post. Consider this bit:
And poop happens. A lot. In addition to "regular" poop (like most birds), owls also empty out the ceca at the end of their intestines about once a day. This discharge is the consistency of chocolate pudding, but smells as bad as the nastiest thing you can imagine. And it stains something awful. Keeping owls involves non-stop cleaning.
Ummm, yeah... Cute or not, no thanks.

Both cockatiels and parrots like getting their heads scratched very, very much, in my experience. Never tried it with a parakeet, but I bet they'd like it too.

My pet cockatiel, when I was a kid, would sort of mosey over and put his head down to ask for a scritch. He did it a lot. He actually sort of had a mutual-assistance pact with one of the parakeets... the parakeet would groom his head, and he'd groom the parakeet's belly. For that last bit, the little parakeet would flip himself 'inside out' on the outer bars of his cage, so that he was holding his back against the outer vertical bars, and the cockatiel would groom him.

It was very cute indeed, but I have no video to post, as this was long ago, well before the era of ubiquitous and cheap video recording.

Even if we have seen this one before, this was posted exactly when I needed a cute owl the most.
