A few months ago, I signed up for an OkCupid.com account. 5 minutes after signing up, before having even written my profile, I started to recieve messages. Since then, I've recieved between 1 and 10 messages from random strangers every day. I'm not going to tell you my name, or username, or the usernames of anyone featured on this site. All I will say is that I am a young woman, and I will post up some of the most interesting messages I get sent day to day.

This post was deleted for the following reason: This is kind of lead-ballooning, sorry. -- cortex

This is kind of weak sauce...a single-page blog with 10 entries in 2 months, the last being more than 6 months ago? The concept was interesting, but Regretsy this ain't. Sorry.

Please allow me the honor of escorting you to a fine establishment, and let us repel to a comfortable lounge for some idle philosophizing and a few libations to the love gods.

Is said fine establishment of opposite polarity to this would-be couple? Also, lounges tend to frown on you pouring your drinks on their floor, regardless of the deity you're trying to honor.

Sounds like there's no real place for this burgeoning love affair. :(

But otherwise, yeah, what anigbrowl said. Not a lot going on here.

Whom do websites like this exist for? What's the point? As if this girl is special for dealing with random messages on a dating site? NEXT.

She didn't have to mention that she is a woman.

Catcher in the rye— haven’t read since high school then?

I'll have to consult my flow chart, but I think an Oh Snap! is in order.

I've never had to deal with online dating, it was not a thing when I met my wife. So it was interesting enough for me to see how people approach it. And it was pretty much what I feared. Weirdos.

And it was pretty much what I feared.

And for that reason alone I think this is a bad post. It reinforces an underserved negative stereotype. Next you'll be saying the Russian bride sites are bad.

your profile is like a beautiful unicorn who likes to hold onion rings for people!

If there is something wrong about saying things like this, I never want to be right.

In this simile, if I am a beautiful unicorn, what does the onion ring represent? And who are the people who need help holding them?
