I'm disappointed he didn't finish with a chorus of "The Sun'll go out... tomorrow..."

Bonus points for being verifiably accurate on all points; and for rhyming "miners" with "vaginas".

For American viewers, The Sun refers to a tabloid newspaper in the U.K. owned by Rupert Murdoch and not to the actual sun. Each thing mentioned is a particular bête noire of that newspaper.

Also, a "bête noire" is a French term for a person or thing which is strongly detested.

Including, in the Sun's case, the French (as Mr. Brooker also points out).

Also, of course the Sun would never conduct a witch hunt against actual witches. That would have been awkward for Rebekah Brooks.

The Sun is also quite tolerant of the undead. After all, one does not want to annoy the Murdoch family.

Ah ha! I spot a flaw in Brooker's poem, as he believes that The Sun goes after people who start human rights campaigns. This isn't true, as I have good evidence that The Sun has been a keen supporter of human rights since at least Tuesday.

They've really never gone after Wiccans?

Well, that's annoying.

Phew, managed to watch it seconds before it was taken down. Amusingly, the Radio Times is embedding the illicit version.

Actually in the full version (viewable here to people in the UK) there's an extra line: "Unless, that is, you count all the times they've had a go at bloody witches", accompanied by a few clippings along those lines.
