A dating PDA - I guess this is one tech solution to Kaya's idea of plumage to attract a potential mate. Related story at Wired News. I just wish they didn't look so ugly.....

wow that's a lame implementation. do they not have apps like this for the palm yet? seems like an easy thing to do, and much more likely to be used on something people actually have... i can just see it now, bars packed with palm toting 20somethings, sitting in silence as they fill out and beam questionnaires to each other. and then, if you found a match, you could i-m each other all night long!

oh wow, i am *so* not tech enough. took me about fifteen seconds to realize PDA wasn't "public display of affection."

Yes, there is something like that for the Palm. But it's not exactly the same thing. =p

On Palm it's nothing! In Japan they have Tamagotchis that sense radio fields from each other, so that when you actually get closer to someone you match with, the two e-thingies start beeping like crazy.
I always wondered where I got this feeling people in Japan can't make easy social contacts...
