One year ago the Fukushima earthquake struck. I have linked to the Metafilter tag search for the event, as this site was a primary aggregator for the first few weeks. The Tohoku tag adds a couple. The Big Picture looks at the area's refugees in August 2011 and in March 2012.

I didn't want the moment to pass unnoted here. For the dead and the bereaved, four square pixels is absurd, but each contains as much as I can project.
