The Toronto Globe and Mail today reported, "Former U.S. vice-president Dick Cheney has cancelled a Canadian speaking appearance due to security concerns sparked by demonstrations during a visit he made to Vancouver last fall, the event promoter said Monday." (SLG&M)

The comments are fascinating.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Not really much to say about this other than "Cheney is an Asshole" which has been pretty thoroughly covered here. -- taz

Mr. Rupert did not say how many tickets had already been sold at prices ranging from $79 to $595.

I wish it was because he was at actual risk of being arrested as a war criminal, rather than having his speaking arrangements interrupted by protesters calling him a war criminal. I would pay good money to see him doing the perp walk.

Check the picture. It's as if Dick Cheney saw Richard Dreyfuss playing him in W., and so in response, through merely focussing his will and emitting a series of increasingly unholy tones, he became Dreyfuss's exact physical replica.
