Hoping to follow in the footsteps of Tim Schafer's recent success on Kickstarter, Brian Fargo and other associates at inXile have finally gone live with their donation page to fund Wasteland 2. As of this posting, they've cleared a quarter mil.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Super awesome (I already kicked in this morning) but this really needs to not have a link to an active kick starter fundraising link to be okay. -- cortex

I'm proud of my friend, who got a tweet about this from Tim Schafer today. I think that's sort of like a "Creation of Adam" moment for him.

Wow, I saw this a couple of hours ago and only $50k had been pledged. Do watch the video on Kickstarter, it's pretty funny.

Is a new kind of kickstarter backdoor?

This is awesome news, but Kickstarter projects in progress tend to get deleted. Still, thanks for the headsup!

Also, for people playing Wasteland in DOSBox, I found that the following trick makes it a lot more tolerable. I haven't tried it since 200...4? however, so it may not work in current versions of DOS Box.

You know how holding down the space bar (I think) while hovering over your character advances time and slowly heals you? If you hold it down and alt-Tab out of Dosbox, the game thinks the space bar is still depressed. So if you ever need to heal up, just do that, do something else, and when you come back to it, you'll have plenty more HP. I figure it would probably be faster if you were to save the game, quit DOSBox, re-launch DOSBox at an (unplayably) fast speed and do it like that but that was more effort than I was willing to put into what was already borderline cheating.
