Alexis Rivera, Transgender Rights Advocate, Dies In California Masen Davis, Executive Director of Transgender Law Center, in a statement: "She understood that we are stronger together, and she kept organizing until the very end. Alexis' death is a reminder that the fight for equality -- and against AIDS -- is far from over."

Oh thanks for posting this. I didn't realize that it had made HuffPo. Alexsis was an amazing woman. There are memorial services this weekend in LA and next weekend in SF, if anyone feels called to attend. Here's the info from the Transgender Law Center about them, and her.

I was lucky enough to clerk at Transgender Law Center last year, during my final semester of law school. Alexis was tough, funny, kind, and a peerless advocate. This is such a loss for the community -- for the world, really.
