Music Industry Confession The Secret Meeting that Changed Rap Music and Destroyed a Generation

This post was deleted for the following reason: I feel like the wacky conspiracy-theory, letter-to-Penthouse flavor of this is kind of dooming this as far as postworthiness goes. -- cortex

My skepti-sense is tingling.

Somebody ask Dr. Dre if this is for real. Until then, meh.

That is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever read.

Conscious rap - KILLED BY "THE MAN".

This is sort of great, in a loopy way.

What the actual fuck is this bullshit? I mean, really.

A great basis for a concept album.

Not that I really disagree with you, but I thought it was kind of an inventive way to blame (rap) music for the problems of society. Instead of you know, corporate lobbying, joblessness, the war on drugs, etc.

...and he went on to become Alex Jones.
Now you know... the REST of the story.

I'm just going to assume that this is fake, but that had the prison industrial complex thought of this in 1991 they totally would have done it at the time.

Let's see, an anonymous author, no names, no evidence, no other persons who were there to corroborate the facts presented.

oooookayyy then.

Cool story, bro.

Seriously, though, there was a point in 1991 when it seemed like Public Enemy and NWA were equally poised to be the future of hip-hop. You don't need a secret meeting of executives to understand why it went the way it did.

Also, remember the FPP about St. Ides a while back?

It does sound a bit wacky by the way it is written, but seriously, the people in charge of the media have decided what we watch and hear for decades. The music that gets in the charts is decided by them so why not like this? Also, I can easily believe that rich white people would conspire to wage war on black people. Look at the oft-metioned stats about the number of black guys in jail for possession of dope. Look at the Tuskagee Experiment.

I think this is a scene from the Black Dynamite sequel, Cracker's Revenge

Why do people make up shit like this?

I like how the person writing this fake story knows so little about the music industry that they can't come up with a better fake job title than "decision maker."

How can someone who doesn't employ you enforce a NDA that states that if you breach the NDA you lose your job? This consipracy needs some better lawyers.

So, was it Jerry Heller that pulled out the gun?

Obviously fake, but also seems to promote some dumb ideas about the influence of music on the black community. I mean does anybody (who isn't a gigantic racist) really believe that hip-hop puts kids in prison?

Why do people make up shit like this?

I'd wager that whoever wrote this believes that something like this actually happened and made up this story to get the word out.

And they believe shit like this because no one wants to believe that no one is in charge and that sink or swim, we're doing it to ourselves.
