Police have arrested an Oakland man who allegedly hit two bicyclists with his car and then fled - an incident caught on video by one of the cyclist's bike-mounted camera. Berkeley police arrested Medaglia in his hotel room on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, heroin possession, a felon in possession of ammunition and violating parole. He was on parole from a 2010 case for possession of a switchblade, police said. ABC 7 identified the cyclist as Brazilian racer Bruno Gregory.

Jebus, it looks intentional.

People think mountain biking is dangerous, but it's safer than road biking IMO. I got hit by a trailer bristling with lawn-care equipment--rakes, shovels, hoes, etc.--and knocked off the road in Chapel Hill one day. The dude(s?) in the truck *had* to know what they did, but they kept going. I tried to catch 'em but to no avail. I like the trails better anyway. Road biking is boring, and there are too many bad/psycho drivers out there.

I would be thrilled if this thread doesn't devolve into a "one time I saw a driver/cyclist/pedestrian acting like a jerk, therefore..." grar-fests.

Glad to hear the cyclists didn't need to be hospitalized.
