Cleopatra Loves The Acid and Roland's Jam is pretty wild. Acid music is still here...

Acidbathory by Chasing Voices is my favorite acid tune of the past few years.

It hasn't got a very good video though has it?

While I feel like the expressive potential of the 303 itself is pretty well spent at this point, I do love a good doofy acid track.

Hardfloor, Hardfloor,HARDFLOOR! These guys are truly some of the masters of this particular sub-genre. Whether it's original anthems or remixes, these guys have a very distinct sound in a field of very similar sounding music.

I agree that with the rise of electro - hipster - indie dance, there's potential for revival here, and I haven't met a crusty raver yet that doesn't have a soft spot for some screamy high resonance square wave oscillator action.

As for me, I'm all about the Acid Polka!

djdrue, it has already begun on the noise/drone side of hipsterdom. There was as good a round-up as any over at mnml ssgs a while back.

I had to go somewhere after 2:08, does Ahkenaton do the acid?

Thankfully, this thread allows me to also recommend Humanoid by Stakker, which is by far, my most favorite acid-house track of all time. 303 and Bezerk Samples: it's like dance music chocolate and peanut butter together!

Sorry kids - for me, it's drippity-droop still. Try this instead:

Heyoka - Fractal Elf

Heyoka - Etheric Dub

I never got tired of acid house or techno. Some of my favorites over the years: Armando, Laurent X, Choice, James 'Jackrabbit' Martin, Science Wonder, Mike Ink, Walker, Universal Indicator, Beverly Hills 808303, Kimmo Rapatti, Richie Hawtin, Tin Man, ... (stopping myself before I get stuck here all day).

If this thread is getting into recommendations then I think we need some real classics:

A+E Dept - The Rabbit's Name Was... (Kris Needs' Kek Detonator Mix)

Rebel Yelle - Mizbehavinit (Audio Pancake's Pass The Maple Syrup Mix)

I could go on all day. As before, not amazing videos like the two I posted, but incredible 303 bangers.

empath - I've always prefered the less cheesy "original":
New Order - Confusion (Pump Panel Reconstruction Mix)

Flaterik - if you want some acid disco, I think this is an absolute killer:
Syntheme - Red

See what I mean? Wink already made that track back in the mid 90s.

At any rate, nobody beats Phuture.

Thanks, Debord!

I tend to more like the stuff that pulls in some of the acid sound but keeps a laid back groove going... as well as not relying SOLEY on a 303. Crazy P - Twisted was one of my favorite songs last year, period. The 9 minute version is much, much better that than edit but if you give it to the drop after the breakdown you should hear what I mean.
