Marijuana's effects on the brain are reversible "It appears that cognitive impairment from marijuana use is temporary and related to the amount of marijuana that has been recently smoked rather than permanent and related to an entire lifetime consumption."
Hmm, I suppose it's good to know I can go back to being smart after being stupid for a little while.

"Craving for marijuana, decreased appetite, sleep difficulty and weight loss were more common in abstaining periods. Aggression, anger, irritability, restlessness and strange dreams were also significantly increased during abstinence, Budney's team found."
I definitely agree with this. Besides the quote above, I often feel dumb days after getting high, and feel sharper after a couple days of not smoking. Won't make me stop for good, but it's interesting I'm not alone.

I've read that hydergine helps too. But I'm not a doctor and I haven't tried it, so don't take my word for it. But it could be worth looking into. posted by klint at 7:06 PM on October 18, 2001

I generally lose weight whenever I stop knocking over Krispy Kremes to get a fix, myself. Which usually coincides with the periods in my life in which I am abstaining. posted by annathea at 10:29 PM on October 18, 2001
