I like the Breaking Bad one. You can tell they're doing it with a sense of humour.

When I was in film school in the 90's there was this pack of guys in my year who worshipped Tarantino. Every one of them had that cheesy 1992 goatee. And in every single one of their films, without fail, there was that POV-from-inside-the-trunk shot of a guy (usually in a suit) opening the trunk.

I love the Breaking Bad POV shot where Jesse's cracking eggs into a pan, and then it cuts to a different angle and he's just straight up using a glass pan like wtf.

Beautiful! Yeah, not a fan of the shovel cam, but that roomba was hilariously unexpected.

The Aronofsky one is mostly just from Requiem for a Dream with a bit of Pi thrown in.

Yeah, I started tweaking just 30 seconds into watching the thing. When I think of the sounds of Aronofsky, I think of Clint Mansell, which would be a much, much longer compilation. Tarantino's was fantastic, although I'm a bit partial towards that Salyu piece and it would probably make even the Hamster Dance look poignant. I just find the shots from below so engaging of the audience, whereas Anderson's shots are engaging with the opposite angle, they create this empathetic bond between you and the characters. Still don't like Rushmore, though, sorry Wes.

This was discussed at great length on AMC's Breaking Bad forum. I like it because it has the effect of capturing the viewer's attention, much like what Jesse was trying to do with that tweaker to distract him.

I don't even know what to say.

:( I am disappointed in me, too. Although, given your, and everyone else's, reaction, I will give it another try. I do adore Zissou, though, does that make things less sad?

I don't suppose anyone's made one of these for the Coen brothers?

THIS! What would the style be, though? Expansive simple landscape shots, or something more interesting?

For the Coens, maybe white lines of a road going by.

Many years ago I remember the BBC's Film program doing this for David Lynch's films ending with the lines crawling by for The Straight Story. This was after they had interviewed Lynch, who claimed, with a bit of a twinkle in his eye, that the latter was not an ironic homage to his earlier shots 'that's how fast the lines go by!'
