Vidz was a late-night video review show from the late 90s, presented by Nigel Buckland and Stef Gardner and shown on Channel 4 in the UK. It concentrated mostly on reviewing low-budget, cult and foreign films. Most of the episodes can be found on this youtube channel and there's an episode by episode guide here). After a break of 12 years or so, they're back, this time in podcast form.

Sorry, I meant to add that the show's are frequently unsafe for work, due to swearing, nudity, violence etc, especially in the film clips.

This takes me back. Even with late night googlebox munchies, i couldn't eat if Nigel was on screen. He had a way with words that could put me of my coco-pops.

eah that whole late night strand that Channel 4 used to do 4Later was fucking excellent. I sure SF:UK was on it (great doc on this history of British SF), Bits, and psychedelic The Trip They also used to show Pulp, a book review show, which I quite enjoyed, although it was more like the Culture Show or something than Vidz and the rest of the stuff Channel 4 showed at the time. (Also the presenter of that is now an author herself, which I found out reading the local paper recently) And I saw a half hour documentary about Northampton presented by Alan Moore on there at one point (possibly part of the The Other Side series) which was really good and that I've never found anywhere since (except for this clip on youtube where he's talking about magic as usual).

I'd completely forgotten about that programme. I used to love watching it when I remembered to check the Radio Times / Teletext to try to find whenever it was being broadcast that week. Now to watch those YT vids.

Wow, this takes me back. I remember we were very excited when we heard they were going to make a show like Vidz for video games. And we were very disappointed when it turned out to be Bits.

And we were very disappointed when it turned out to be Bits. Did you ever watch Consolevania? That was almost the spiritual successor of Vidz (and even had Nigel turn up on it occasionally)
