Good Old Shoe. In stark raving reality this time though. Lessee. . .who could it have been who leaked this propagandistic canard?

I can't believe that the web site for Wag The Dog from...2 years ago?...is still up!

Pardon my ignorance, but could you be a little more specific on what the connection is between these two links? I haven't seen Wag The Dog. Does the CNN story echo a scene in the film?

MrBaliHai, Skip the movie. You want the book: AMERICAN HERO, by Larry Beinhart. The hardcover was from Pantheon. Scary book when it was written, scarier now.

I think it was more of a cathartic act by the members of the special forces. Damn their human reaction to tragedy.

Seems like an updated, more PC version of the Special Forces calling cards used by some units, on occasion, during the Vietnam War. Ace of spades, etc., wedged in in the mouth of soldiers they'd killed.

Of course, now the troopers have Photoshop.

i agree with sacre, it's not realy the paralel of "Good ol Shoe."

This is propaganda. Ol Shoe was a fabricated 'hero' whose heroic actions were invented and disseminated into the american conciousness via highly subtle government influences.
