Seven Kittens is exactly what it says on the tin. (Plus or minus a cat.)

From the stream's description:
7 kittens born on Thursday June 7, 2012

About Us (and also answers to some of the most frequently asked questions):
- we are in Pittsburgh, PA USA
- mama cats name is Noodles
- she is pretty young (under 1 yr)
- she was a very hungry stray (lost or abandoned based on how friendly she is) that we found on our street and took in so she would have a safe space to have her babies
- we think that all of the orange variations are boys and the two torties are female, but we are not 100% positive yet.
- we only named Noodles and will let their new parents name the kittens. for now, we usually just identify them by color and size
- we are not keeping any of them (we already have 4 cats!) and they will be adopted out to their forever homes in August when they are old enough to be separated
- the runt (one that is similar color to mom) has been growing at the same rate as the rest, he just started out way smaller
- we do watch to make sure that they all get to eat throughout the day and it is not uncommon for one to sleep through lunch
- yes, kittens are cute, but PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS! they will be happier and healthier for it.

we usually mute the sound at night for privacy - if you want to hear their little squeaks and cries, check back between 9 am and 6 pm EST (give or take a couple hours).

I only see one tortie. Where is the seventh kitten?!?

I am pretty unrestricted as to what I can view at work, but for some reason Streaming does not cooperate with my company's work computers.

THIS MAKES ME SAD for I want to see kittens.

just went off air - a live webcam that showed 7 kittens and a mother sleeping perfectly still.

Off the air! Cruel!!! I demand kitties!!

Great. Just great. For the rest of the afternoon as I toil away here at my keyboard I will hear the strains of "soft kitty" from The Big Bang Theory in my head and will be itching, quite literally itching, to pet one of those soft, fuzzy, sleepy kitties... must not click on cam... oh, curse you Kadin2048.

So cute, so terribly cute...

And now it's offline? Is this some sort of cruel hoax?

Gah, the camera must have gone off. My timing is terrible. Generally it has only gone out for short periods in the last day or so.

In the meantime, there are recorded videos if you click on the tab to the right of the livestream. Here's one from a couple days ago.

I love how the picture of Ma with kids nursing is like a cat blimp with hanging kitten appendages

Mama cat is beautiful. And patient.

I swear some of the little ones look around for nipples on their siblings when she isn't around.

At the kit tin store.

My cat doesn't seem to appreciate the kitten mewing as much as I do. So freakin' cute. I want a calico. Her name would be Quartz.

Mom got up and wandered off, the kitties woke up, and the cam went off air again! Noooo!

Where does one buy canned kitten?

One of the torties was headbutting/bulldozing mama in exactly the same way that Pusslikeso treats my face at 5:30am when she is dissatisfied with the state of her food bowl.

Awww! Look at those little paws twitch in their sleep. My heart just constricted to the size of a walnut they're so adorable.

Not so good at the walking or standing up.

I really like the point where they can take a couple of steps but their heads are so big they tip over and bonk themselves. so wrong, I know.

Mama's apparently out taking a break. Kittehs are sleeping with little paw twitchehs.
posted by BlueHorse at 1:45 PM on June 22, 2012

Snooze, snooze. Twitch, twitch.

It's funny, the kitteh-dreamz effect sometimes ripples through like dominoes. One sleeping kitten twitches, his sibling rolls over, the third kitty trembles, the fourth one stretches.

Oh the flailing and the mewing at lunchtime.

I swear some of the little ones look around for nipples on their siblings when she isn't around.

They do indeed. I occasionally hand-raise orphaned kittens (bottle-feeding, weaning, socializing, the whole mom-cat job) for a local shelter, and it is not a good thing when an orphan sucks on its sibling (usually the boy parts) for lack of a nipple. It can make both kittens very sick.
posted by caryatid at 4:46 PM on June 22, 2012

OMG! Right now they are all sleeping! and dream-twitching! And the fact that it is a millionty degrees today does not stop me from WANTING kittens (all seven of them!) snuggled! asleep! under my chin!

Now the mottled grey one is sleeping on top of one of the orange ones. PILE OF KITTENS OMG

Look. I have three cats. I have insufficient floor space for three cats. People of Metafilter: I beg of you, do not make me foster kittens again. (If I do, I am totally setting up a live stream of them, though.)
