Shi'a cleric Yasser Al-Habib, really, really hates Umar, the Second Caliph, and Aisha, the Prophet's wife, but insulting the Prophet's family earned him a fatwa from Tehran clerics, so he now lives in London. On his website, Yasser Al-Habib has a rather dull video where he explains in English why the shi'a hate Umar so much. However, on his own satellite channel Fadak TV, Al-Habib offers in Arabic much more colourful explanations for his detestation of Caliph Umar, one that involves a rather vivid (includes gestures) Gigeresque description of how Sunni muslims catch teh gay and how Sunni women become whores, and another one where he claims that Umar was so ugly that women miscarried at the sight of him. Of course, the 1350 year-old Shi'a-Sunni feud is not amusing at all.

By the way, the first (English-speaking) video is dull, unless one turns on automatic captions and watch Youtube struggle with Arabic accent and words: Koran turns into leprechaun, the Prophet's noble sunna into profits noble santana, Umar bin al-Khattab into i'm out of a hot dog and hadith into huggies or Heidi).

To be honest, this isn't much more outlandish than things Jerry Falwell has said.

Is there more to this than "hateful guy says hateful stuff that's kinda weird"? 'Cause I don't know if gawping at the weird makes up for airing the hate.

Honestly, these claims aren't wild or manic enough to jump over into "It's so bad, it's good". It's just common-or-garden hateful talk, and this guy probably shouldn't be getting the exposure.
