The crimes they are a'changing. This comes from the daily police log of The Union newspaper Grass Valley/Nevada City, CA. Surveillance cameras (and apparently not very effective ones) were stolen while mystery powders kept the cops hopping.

what does this mean. why is this important. is local news, even under the guise of "how things have changed", a mefi front page item that just burns a hole in my missing jigsaw puzzle? Funny story, but a c- for context.

I'll take a "C" for content, no problem. But "C"- for context misses the point. This post addresses the subject of how quickly and deeply the anthrax-cum-terrorism has penetrated (or been drummed into) the national psyche. Are you saying all those little people down there in the Great Fly-Over play no part in the puzzling national psyche? Can you say, "psyche?" I knew you could.

Wow... my town, Grass Valley, mentioned in MeFi? Golly! GV represent! And yeah, it's funny - here we are in a total backwood bumfuck town and people are scared of anthrax. NBC head offices this ain't. Anyways, nice to see Geev getting the kind of press it really deserved. Also - The Union's local nickname is "The Onion," mainly because it's so obviously po-dunk.

well the tag line is "A" stuff. stealing cameras is the beauty. is the powder a diversion? or is this an example of crime taking advantage of the keystone kops. when i say psyche 5 times, Diane Warwick pops up from my ashtray with a song and some skinny on the lotto. The stolen cameras are funny. i should not judge a post to harsh as i have never posted...so....what did you do with the cameras:)
