Maybe I'm mistaken, but it feels like the last half aren't so much US-UK jokes as they are normal professor-says-this-student-hears-that jokes.
I did find the fourth item interesting, though.

*chuckles* Strictly speaking, this also works for US students trying to interpret feedback from American faculty, although I'd dissent from the translation for "A-." (A B-range grade, on the other hand...) Items 7-11 are definitely spot-on. I plead guilty to doing the "hey, you should look at X" thing when I really mean, "stop fooling around and read this book which is threatening to blast your argument to smithereens."
Things are far more exciting when it comes to asking American faculty to read letters of rec from UK faculty, because hoo boy, the conventions are different. That really needs a chart.
