Now I know what to do with that spare bedroom.

How do they stop the animals from looking into the lazer? Do they have special goggles for animals? Tiny little cat goggles?

Had to stop watching... was giving me a headache. Cats and companions were cute though.

School of fish? Worms? Sperm? I don't know, there was some sort of strange imagery going on with those multiple animal shots

I've never seen a cat figure out that the tiny, red, circular mouse it is chasing has anything to do with the boring human thing I am holding.

In that case, wouldn't it be Thorsdad?

If you give me that little spotty cat at 0:32, I'll fix the laser typo. (Okay, fixed it. We're on the honor system here; please send cat now tx.)

I wonder if this is what we look like to aliens while we chase after money.

When you film a bunch of excited cats from the ceiling, they look like furry tadpoles.

Cool but how did they get the cats to hang onto the wall like that?

Warning: Some of those are fake cats.

From what I can find via quick search, there is not a big danger. You'd have to shine a strong laser directly into the cat's eye for several seconds to do damage, which doesn't happen during this kind of play. Also the laser in the video seems to be diffused into a larger spot which would remove the danger entirely. For total safety at home just use a flashlight.

My cat is scared of the laser pointer, which is a first for me. She's very sweet and shy but it's kinda pathetic, honestly. She is more interested in easy targets like socks and has epic battles whenever she finds them.

Laser pointers are generally class 2 or class 2M - they cannot put out enough energy to damage a retina unless the blink reflex is somehow compromised (alcohol, drugs, some diseases etc.) or if focused through artificial lenses.

The animals should be fine unless the filmers are using industrial lasers for some insane reason. I'd be more worried about cat headaches and accidents involving running full-pelt into a wall, but I'm not a pet-owner so I don't know how likely that is.

I have. Two out of my three kitties have figured out the game. They love chasing the little dot anyway, although every so often they stop and stare at me to make completely sure I know that they know what's going on.

Mine know the deal, too. They're actually bored with it.

We have a cat that has not only figured out where the red dot is coming from, he knows where we store it. Of course he's also the one we make dizzy by spinning him in a tight little circle.
