Both Gore Vidal (1925-2012) and William F. Buckley may have left us but their legendary feud, recorded live, remains. Vidal: The only pro- or crypto-Nazi I can think of is yourself...Buckley: Now listen you queer, quit calling me a crypto-Nazi or I'll sock you in the goddamn face and you'll stay plastered. Their political views notwithstanding, both men shared much in common.

A rare inaccuracy on Vidal's part. Buckley was in fact a crypto-Klansman.
