If you fondly remember the days when MTV would play large blocks of music videos then 120 Megabytes may be for you.

Hosted on Network Awesome (previously), 120 Megabytes is an homage to the 120 Minutes programming block on MTV (which was canceled in 2003, but has made a return as of 2011 on MTV2 and the Web).

Curated by Mark Brown and presented by 20jazzfunkgreats, 120 Megabytes ushers in a new era in musical video programming showcasing experimental audio & visual hallucinations in a space between art and music. Each 30 minute episode is broadcast every Thursday.

Love Network Awesome (I posted it before and found that 1969 Spider-Man fan movie there as well) and Love 120 Megabytes ... but ... it is a little hard to navigate and skip around between videos etc. so I appreciate the documentation of recent shows. Unfortunately, I've heard of a lot of these artists, but that's OK! Definitely some new ones too.

Perhaps worth noting (not to steal thunder) that episodes of MTV's new, new 120 Minutes are all available online (although I have yet to hear/see Matt Pinfield...). Definitely more commercial (and ad-laden), but still decent (anything with Matt and Kim and Bob Samaras-style b-ball dribbling skills is cool with me).

Even at my advanced age, I do try to keep up with new and exciting music, but I have to admit that I've never heard of any of the bands listed there. Sigh. Then again, if they're Good Stuff, then maybe I need to have a look at this, so I can discover some new swell tunes.
