"Call Me Maybe" (Chatroulette version) is Steve Kardynal's latest costumed lip-sync cover video - and as usual it comes complete with hilarious & happy audience reaction shots. If you like this, you'll probably also enjoy his Chatroulette versions of Katy Perry's "Peacock" (previously) and Lady GaGa's "Telephone" (previously). All videos may be considered NSFWish.

"songs in real life" - LMFAO's "Sexy And I Know It" and Lady GaGa's "Born This Way"
"Apple Store versions" - Eminem feat. Rihanna's "Love The Way You Lie" and Katy Perry's "Firework"

Lately, I have been silently, internally changing the lyrics from "so call me maybe" to "and I'm an aphid." No reason.

I loved this, totally made me smile today. It reminded me of this youtube collage that Margaux Williamson made, which is one of the best things I've ever seen on the internet. There's something great about the low resness and the spontaneity, of both, y'know?

I can't decide which reactions I like more, the people who look utterly betrayed, or the totally unlikely ones who nevertheless appear to love this unashamedly.

I haven't laughed that hard in weeks. So awesome. Love the progression from confused->horrified->singing along.

I don't know whether to be glad or ashamed that this is only the second time I've ever heard this song, the first being in the Team USA Swimming video. 'Cause an awful lot of the people in this video appear to be singing along. Which implies rather a high level of familiarity.

I didn't get the love for the Olympic Swim team version. If they're not olympians I'm pretty sure no one gives a damn about it.

But this, this is awesome.

I think I'm most surprised that Chatroulette is still around. Love the reactions, the big genuine grins, great stuff.

So almost everyone, then. Unless I misunderstand chatroulette entirely.

@Justinian: it's quite the phenomenon. The local college station I listen to (alternative) doesn't play it, but I hear it all the time when I have to take a trip.

I do think her success is deserved. The song's pretty catchy; before you know it you're humming it to yourself all day long.

Totally charming. It's heartening to see how many men were not 'fraidy cats about joining in on the good times.

Yeah, I'm always curious about ChatRoulette, the idea of just chatting with strangers, but wow, there were a lot of shirtless dudes on the receiving end of that dance number.

...yeah, I'm just going to leave that last phrase there for you and go back to my drink now.

It was the first time I had heard it, and I was also struck by the people who knew the words and could do the actions.

I'll ditto what I said two years ago: I think my favorites are the guy-girl couples, where the guy is the main one and the girl is slightly off-center. Their presence on Chatroulette seems so random.

One of the greatest things you can do in life is make other people smile, so I guess Steve Kardynal qualifies as some kind of angel or demigod or saint or something.

I'm about to go and help my 90 year old grandmother eat her lunch because her body and brain are shutting down. I will dissolve into floods of tears after I leave her.

My internet connection is painfully slow. I have opened the link and by the time I get home - in about ninety minutes - it will have downloaded and I can hit 'replay' and it will play through without stopping. And I suspect it will make me smile, and I need a lot of that at the moment.

I am really looking forward to this. Thanks, flex.

This video and the early US swim team one make me feel strangely proud of my generation. I just love that so many people seem so comfortable with playing with gender expressions -- people don't seem as uptight any more. I just love some of the reactions, especially from the some of the guys who look like they'd totally not be cool with this at all.

That kinda floored me, the kids today. I tell you what, the boys wouldn't have been caught dead singing along to Madonna like this when I was a teenager.

And yeah, Chatroulette is at least 80% dudes jerking off. It's an odd little place.

I just watched Peacock again, and I didn't see any obvious repeats; care to link to your suspected matches? That said, I think it would make perfect sense; if I had seen this guy pop up in my roulette 2 years ago, I'd probably show up as much as possible going forward in hopes of seeing him again.
