Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will announce his vice presidential running mate at an event in Norfolk, Virginia tomorrow morning. Sources confirm his choice is Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan, after last minute pressure from conservatives and a widely distributed editorial from the Wall Street Journal.

This FPP couldn't have waited until tomorrow?

The guy who wants to raise middle class taxes to cut them for the rich plus the guy who wants to dismantle Medicare as we know it.

Winning combination?

Guy can't even make this decision on his own. Way to look Presidential, Mittens.

I said in the other thread: Picking Ryan just strikes me as suicidal. The walking embodiment of everything people hate about the GOP taps the walking embodiment of everything people hate about the GOP for VP. Ryan's the guy you pick when you're still trying to win the Republican primary, or else the guy you pick when you've decided to just go down with the ship.

I was working on a post myself for tomorrow morning; here's a jucier bit in case the mods decide not to wait:

Audio Surfaces of Paul Ryan's Effusive Love of Ayn Rand

vs.

Paul Ryan Suddenly Does Not Embrace Ayn Rand's Teachings

Sounds like he'd be yet another pillar of consistency in the Romney campaign!

From the WSJ editorial:
Mr. Obama and the Democrats want to make this a small election over small things—Mitt's taxes, his wealth, Bain Capital. As the last two months have shown, Mr. Romney will lose that kind of election.

To win, Mr. Romney and the Republicans have to rise above those smaller issues and cast the choice as one about the overall direction and future of the country.

I have a crazy feeling Willard & co. looked at his tax returns.

That said, Ryan doesn't hurt but boring white guy definitely doesn't help. After Palin, I guess that's the point.

Meanwhile, Obama sleeps very well.

I do, however, wholeheartedly endorse @HitFixDaniel's plan to bring Enver Gjokaj onto SNL to play him every week.

Does anyone have a breakdown of Ryan's politics? All I get from wiki is that he's been putting out the Republican's budget proposals lately, doesn't like SOPA, and is into P90X.

Mitt Romney 2012: I just want to be president! Tell me what you want me to do and I'll do it!
