Shrinp.com is a site that does very little and does it well. Stick anything after the domain name (shrinp.com/shrimp! shrinp.com/puggle! shrinp.com/metafilter!) and you'll get a helpfully labeled image of maybe that thing, or maybe not so much that thing, who can tell? The internet, it's very mysterious. Built by our very own 31d1. Approximately as NSFW as you try to make it.
Not to be confused with shrimp.com, apparently.

Seems not to work for Gavin MacLeod.
The failstate for not finding anything appears to be just the shrinp front page, though I hadn't really run into that before. Typing in a bunch of gibberish seems to confirm that.
But it's happy with spaces, so /gavin macleod works nicely.

I'm guessing that it works by doing real-time image search API requests for terms that haven't been requested before and then caches those results for posterity thereafter. So it's probably not that it has a big or small vocabulary so much as it has a limited maximum daily rate of growth of its vocabulary, probably. Also possible that it's just plain straining under the traffic in general. I will feel bad if I crippled it by practicing my love.

Thanks to the magical power of procrastination, I now know that only 11 of the 50 U.S. states work. So, in alphabetical order (thanks to my fifth grade music teacher who burned Fifty Nifty United States deeply into my memory) here are: Alaska (purty), Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Oregon, Texas, and Virginia (my favorite).
I really should get out more.
