It made me feel old to realize I didn't know who many of these people were.

Hey, Clarissa and I were born on the same day (it was how teenage Rock Steady knew we were meant to be together) and I'm not "almost 40"!
36 isn't almost 40, is it?

If the plot of Back To The Future were to take place this year, Marty would travel back to...1982. Conversely, we only have about three more years to invent the flying car before BTTF2's Marty shows up in one.

I recently realized that the 1980s are far more distant to my own kids than the 1950s were to me when I saw Grease and thought it took place in the impossibly distant past.

Yep. Today I caught myself realizing that I graduated HS 22 years ago. Which means 1968 was the same length from then as my own graduation is today. The year the world went crazy. No wonder I can't talk to all the young people I work with. They have no concept of what it was like to grow up in the Reagan era.

I graduated from high school 28 years ago, and this video is a total crackup, not in the ways intended.

Of course not, just as 46 is absolutely nowhere near that other number we don't talk about much

Had a moment recently where a magazine (well the online equivalent) did a thing on how one of their reporters had never listened to an LP record.
And the last museum I visited had a rotary telephone from the 70s because kids today don't know what one is.
