From the company website:

From that day forward, people have been intrigued by the name while at the same time realizing that it truly is a standard of excellence.

Yeah, slightly out of date logic there.

Hmmm, I think they just might have to rethink that one.

Probably depends on the emphasis . . .

ARAB pest CONTROL today might suggests a Talibanish approach to roaches and rats.

ARAB PEST control might be related to cruise missiles and commandos.

I think however, these days, these folks prefer to be thought of as Arab PEST CONTROL, which is a shame, since they apparently had an appreciation for the acheivements of the great culture of the middle east.

I hope someday we can get past the current situation and back to a respect for those who kept western civilization alive during Europe's dark ages.

In the town where I grew up, there used to be a little shop called Aids Drug Store.

Afghan hound owners face PR dilemma. "This home protected by Afghan security" signs coming down; the state even took away one owner's license plate reading AFGHAN. Meanwhile, the owners' association has long urged people to remember that Afghans are people, not dogs -- the latter are always Afghan hounds.

methinks Wulfgar's been buying his historical books in the Airport bookstore. Haha just kidding, but you are referring to Cahill's book are you not? It's a good read but doesn't necessarily have the weight of scholarship (not to mention evidence) in comparison to the well-documented role of Islamic Culture in preserving the writings of the Greeks and other lynchpins of Western Civilization.

But how simple. ARAB EXTERMINATION CO. No eyebrows raised down in bubbaville, and Ariel Sharon gives you a medal.

cell divide, it was joke. Lighten' up, 'kay? As for the role of Islamic culture, I will agree with your historical assessment, but, that culture has long been stagnant and is regressing under the weight of medieval religious interpretation. Lets not give the modern middle east undue credit for what they haven't participated in, OK?
