Homebrewer in Chief

President Obama has shared his homebrewed beer on the campaign trail and now homebrewers are after his secret recipe. The beer has incorporated honey from first lady Michelle Obama's garden beehive and is brewed by White House chefs using equipment purchased with the Obama's personal funds.

Someone filed an official petition with the White House asking for release of the recipe. A user on reddit has contacted the White House Office of Public Affairs while another has filed a FOIA request.

This is really cool but does having professional chefs brew your beer count as homebrew?

Still, super cool and a great message from the white house.

Back in '03-'04, I wished that the Democrats would learn to emotionally manipulate their base w/lifestyle issues with the effectiveness of the right. Now that I no longer care, they seem to be getting started on that.

On the one hand, I know someone's gonna jump on the whole "the honey is from Michelle's own hive" thing to paint them as examples of the trendoid liberal base that they poke fun at in Portlandia.

On the other hand - dude, our First Family watches Mythbusters, quotes Star Trek, homebrews beer and keeps bees, and are still all smart as whips, and even today I still think that's awesome.
