Shunsuke, the Cutest Dog of All the Dogs
August 27, 2012 8:56 AM Subscribe
Shunsuke is a Japanese Pomeranian guaranteed to brighten your day. He's amassed a considerable fanbase; his owner's Twitter feed is followed by more than a hundred thousand people, and he's got a calendar and photo book. Here he is riding a snow shovel. Here he is dressed as a bee.
I refuse to believe this is a real dog and not some mo-cap cartoon cause nothing naturally occurring is THAT CUTE.

OH MY GOD there is nothing on earth cuter than short-trimmed pomeranians. NOTHING I TELL YOU NOTHING.
also i cannot adequately describe the noise i made upon viewing the bee suit, i think it may have transcended both space and time.

I was thinking hmm, he doesn't meet my personal criteria for absolute adorableness, and then my god the bee video. SO CUTE.

You know if an evil mind-controlling alien race wants to enslave earth they should probably do it in the form of Shunsuke. I don't think we'd even mind.

ROU - how did you cross puppies with piglets??
My parents used to buy dog food at a store whose proprietor called pomeranians pomenarians.
I used to buy pomegranates at a bodega that called them pomergrants.

Japan is stealing our cute-dogs-in-bee-costumes idea just like they are stealing our rounded corners!

I am pretty sure that is the exact face I make when presented with tacos. Or certain teevee shows I have tentatively agreed not to mention in unrelated threads.

Not trying to derail, but Samsung isn't a Japanese company.
Back on topic: the Japanese university I work for recently created a puppy mascot to promote its new social media accounts. There's been a big discussion about what the character's "voice" should be. They don't want to assign it a gender, which is harder than one might think, since language use in Japanese drastically changes depending on a speaker's gender identity. Last week, our social media committee literally spent an hour and a half debating what first person pronoun the character should use in its twitter posts.
Anyway, with that many followers, Shunsuke's owner is doing something right. I think I'll forward this to our PR guys for a little inspiration.
