What if Martha Stewart was a goth?

What if Martha Stewart was a goth? As it turns out, she'd just shy away from elegant eggshell blues and seafoam greens in favor of black and burgundy. Other than that she'd be pretty much the same. It's not too late to recycle your house in time for Samhain. A frivolous, yet convincing argument for a strange but useful marriage of ideas. Well, if you're into this sort of thing, of course.
Happy Halloween, MeFi!

If Martha Stewart were goth, she might look like this, but I wonder how she would fare on amigothornot.com. Heh.

Rebecca is the goth Martha Stewart. And I say that in the most loving way, even though I'm not a fan of the latter.

ZachsMind: Happy Halloween back atcha -- thanks for the courtesy! Truly one of my favorite holidays -- although recent events have dampened my spirits just a tad. Local Kwik-E-Mart has a large sign on the door that reads: REMOVE MASKS BEFORE ENTERING. Makes sense, but don't recall seeing something like that before. And re: Martha -- she already IS goth, in a way -- off-center, obsessed with seemingly trivial details, dedicated to her own culture/style...kinda cute, too.

Happy & Safe Halloween to all!

thank you fooljay, but trystan (the gothic martha stewart) is the gothic martha stewart.

I am, however, the gothic geddy lee. or joe strummer. I always get those two mixed up.

A couple of years ago, I saw an episode of Martha's show where she decorated prettily-wrapped gifts with DEAD BEETLES. She cooed and oohed and awwed over the shiny niftiness of them and then carefully glued them on. If that's not a sign of some gothic streak, I don't know what is.

I think "elegant eggshell blues" would make a great title for a song.

Martha went goth last Halloween. A neato photo spread of her getting all Wednesdayed up was featured in the Halloween issue of Living last year. (I did not buy it, just read and chortled while in line at the grocery store, so there.) According to her website this was a TV special too.

I don't know which is funnier -- the idea of a goth Geddy Lee, or the idea that Geddy Lee is anything like Joe Strummer.

I dunno if Rebecca Blood is the Goth Martha Stewart or not, but she sure is a please mentally insert your personal favorite politically correct, goth-culture-acceptable and inoffensive synonym for "babe" here.
