It's split screens, right? They've stitched together footage of what the right-hand anchor is doing while the left-hand anchor is reading the news, together with footage of what the left-hand anchor is doing while the right-hand anchor is reading the news. Rarely does something on-set cross the entire screen horizontally, so the compositing is probably pretty easy. That's my guess, anyway.

Could've done without the jarring static bursts. Nobody sees those any more anyway, and there's no reason to put them in a Youtube video. But I liked it! Ironically, it says something.

This could work very well as an art installation, if you projected one newsperson (or pair of newspeople) onto each of the four walls in a darkened room and left it to run in a continuous loop. You'd have to get rid of the annoying static thing between transitions, however, so you'd have just the ambient room sound with the occasional on-screen clearing of a throat or rustling of papers.

I read about a portrait exhibit where the artist had made his models hold a pose for a couple of minutes, recorded as video, made seamless loops out of them, and played them back on big hi-def screens. They looked like regular portraits, but they'd blink and twitch a tiny bit. Bummed I didn't get to see it in person.

Some of these might come from the satellite feeds. When sending video around they leave the connections open a good bit before and after segments. Some great bits gathered through the same source appear in documentaries about the Bush presidency's control over media entities.

At first I thought this was a double because I've actually seen this before (a year ago, even) and MeFi typically finds all my weird youtube videos for me. Until I realized it was from Adam Buxton. I may sorta stalk his youtube account (and actually just watched this one a couple days ago because I needed a little "pick-me-up" and despite the fact I practically have this one memorized, it never ceases to make me laugh until I'm literally tearing up). But I think I found out about Adam Buxton from MeFi in the first place, so it comes full circle.
