It's already been said, but I'll put my vote in for "Bela Lugosi is Dead" by Bauhaus. However, you can't possibly have a musical collection for Halloween without including the soundtrack for the "shower scene" from "Psycho". Simply the scariest 30 seconds of music in movie history. (but the "Jaws" dah-dum comes close)

"do the zombie" and "she's fallen in love with a monster man" -- the eyeliners anything by the groovie ghoulies "chain saw", "i don't wanna go down to the basement", and "pet sematery" -- ramones for sheer halloween mood you can't beat ghostland by goblin market -- "highgate", maybe? "the ravenna witch" and "the secret in her smile" ("she is the cause and the effect/it's in the bite marks on her neck!") -- the green pajamas "tracy i love you" -- luna and, finally, the one, the only "scream and run away" by the baudelaire memorial chorale (better known as the magnetic fields)

Kronos Quartet's Black Angels is pretty creepy. Their Schnittke album scares they hell out of me as well, come to think of it. And there was a Current 93 album that almost made me run from the room, but damed if I can remember the title of it. Oh, and of course Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus.

To lighten the mood a little, how about David Lindley's cheesy-reggae Casio-keyboard-infused cover of "Werewolves of London"?
