A picture is worth a thousand words. No pictures? It'll cost about $180.

Ugh, textbooks are a racket. But increasingly so is higher education in general, so I'm not sure why we're surprised that the textbook publishers are becoming more bald-faced about it.

In the case of this book, since it will apparently not have any resale value after the year is done (since presumably next year's book will actually contain the images), if I were in the course I'd get together with the other students, buy one copy of the book, and photocopy the shit out of it.

The book ... doesn't contain any images of, you know, art.
I've never studied art in any formal way, but the few art and art history textbooks I've seen all surprised me with their inadequate or absent illustrations and photographs. So this is par for the course (heh) I guess.

Wow I almost kind of want a copy of this book for the bizarre factor. How thrilling it would be to read through the notes and imagine the art that doesn't appear.
