Huh. I thought I'd be bored with this since I'm well versed with Terry Zwigoff's "Crumb", but I enjoyed it and watched this all the way through.

item, that's an awesome story.

I thought Artw was Mefi's patron saint of comics?

Artw is MeFi's Comics Pope, overseeing the propagation of the faith.

Would love to know if there's some newer Crumb footage. This is 25 years old, and the Zwigoff doc is almost 18 years old by now.

He's been living in France, illustrating the book of Genesis, and doing some of the most compelling work of his career. Wish there was some new stuff.

Although not surprised there's not. Man values his privacy. Bless him for that and all else.

A simple "I like big butts and I cannot lie" would have sufficed.

For those who are interested in some recent Crumb, shows number 10, 11 and 12 of John's Old Time Radio Show feature John Heneghan and Robert Crumb spinning 78s and chatting about stuff. John's also co-leader of Eden & John's East River String Band who Crumb sometimes guests with.

I love R. C., but the link seems hard to connect with

ShutterBun: A simple "I like big butts and I cannot lie" would have sufficed.
Which is as accurate when applied to that hack Rubens.

"Crumb" goes into his family in depth....reminds me of my family. Amazing he survived and
flourished. He produced the right art at the right time.

Interesting that he was "shy", but he didn't hesitate to jump into a car with his buddies and go out to San Francisco.

I don't understand why this is being referenced again - even though the previous reference is referenced.
