Sounds like a good move to me. They need to start swimming and hopefully they won't get washed out to sea when Playstation2 hits the mainland.

But can you install a hard drive in one and install Linux?

lets see. pay $199 for a dreamcast. OR...

get one for free when you pay $526.80 for 2 yrs of internet service. and oh wait, it gets better, i get to connect through a 56K modem instead of my DSL.

this is a great promotion for sega and the millions of americans that cannot do math.

C'mon, Sikk, you know you want to play Chu Chu Rocket with me over the internet...

Actually, I think they're coming out with an ethernet card for the Dreamcast, so you can put it on a network. I'd get more info out of my roommate who was telling me about this, but he's (more than) half-way across the country at the moment.

i know they say they are. or sources here at checkout.com (of where i work) are telling me this. unknown when though.

and on top of that, i still dont want to have to pay 22 dollars a month to be able to connect to their network to play gamers online.

simply put, id rather pay 199 for a dreamcast than 526
