I have no idea how these cats got all this money, or why.

I like the ones that are basically an opposable thumb away from throwing signs, like so.

Of course, Vice did a piece on cashcats.

Vice asks the hard questions so we don't have to:
“How would a cat go about accumulating all this cash? What would these cats be spending cash on if spending cash was something cats did?”

My ex had a cost that was always yowling for food. Sometimes I would tease him by trying to hand him a couple singles and telling him to go to the store himself then make fun of him for not having pockets to keep the money in or thumbs to carry it. Never though to take pic of him with the money, it would have been cute.

'S OK, Ad hominem. We all know that cats equal cost.

They don't care about the money. But they are amused by how exited humans get when they lay down on the money.

I'm in the wrong profession.

I should be raising cats.

Don't touch Hitler Cat's money--he needs it to fund the Purrmacht.

I would watch a show called Cash Cats if it were on, say, the Discovery Channel.

Please! Like the Discover Channel would ever stoop to those depths...

Clearly you were thinking of The Learning Channel.

This is pretty much the only site I've seen where the .biz TLD choice was a completely appropriate.

My favorite "nothing exceeds like excess" Ca$hCat is this guy, who appears to be warming ~$3M USD. Even if it's prop money--it's prop money, right?--whoever took that photo put a respectable amount of effort into arranging that photo.

I also want to point out my own Mavis (with Scratchy Whale) and Marcel.

I dunno. Cash Cats seems a bit too classy for them.

The serial numbers are all the same, so yeah.

I think this cat is chewing on a $100 bill... if that isn't a fake, what the fuck?

It's not weed, it's catnip.

You'll have to ask pullayup, it's their cat.

But I assure you, you have most likely handled paper money that has been in even more questionable situations than having a cat chew on it, and been blissfully unaware.

Whoa, there's an Australian kitty in there, with a grand in cash. And s/he's winking.

What? No! I did not go through pages and pages of filthy rich felines just to find with Aus currency. Whatever makes you think that?

Hmm, I wonder if the FBI and other assorted intelligence agencies are perusing these pics to pick up serial numbers on cash, looking for actual stolen cash.

A while back, I ended up in a circumstance where I had about $15K in cash. So of course I took a picture of one of my cats laying on it. (I can't find where I stashed a copy of the pic at the moment. Sigh.)

I think this cat is chewing on a $100 bill... if that isn't a fake, what the fuck?

Of the 234 U.S. bills collected in 17 large and small cities, nearly 90 percent had traces of cat spit, especially in larger cities such as Baltimore, Boston, and Detroit. Ninety-five percent of the dollars found in Washington, D.C., had cat spit embedded in their fibers—among the highest in the study.

Really! That is remarkable. On the very rare occasions (actually, maybe only once) when I've had a $100 bill, it has been closely guarded. No cat or any other creature may chew on them.

(Because how terrible would you feel if your cat ate $100??)

Cash4Lead I know I have a better pic somewhere on my home computer, but here's a cropped pic that I used for an lj icon.

snorkmaiden: the trick is to catch the cat before it does more than nibble it. And if the cat pukes on it, well, there's always money laundering. :)
