Badly Recreated Animated Film Frames: "Take a still from a multi-million dollar animated film that required thousands of man-hours to create and replicate it in Maya in 30 minutes."

Wow, if those are only taking 30 minutes, they're quite good with Maya.

I love this, I love this.

The Jimmy Neutron one just says "toilet" on the back wall where there's a commode in the original. Freaking genius.

I mean, what's really remarkable here is how close this person's able to get; I'm not sure if I can even tell which one is the original and which is the re-creation in this still from The Incredibles.

Is this where I shill for ZBrush with its intuitive and hand-on approach to quick recreational 3D sculpting?

Thumbs up for this Toy Story 3 shot

What does it say that he came closest with his "Veggie Tales" copy?

And now we know where all that money is going. Hint: it ain't on the software.

Really, if it only takes 30 minutes to get as close as some of these are, Maya must be light years easier to use than any software available a decade ago when I played around with 3D rendering.

All of these are amusing, but some of them hit me really hard in the funny parts, and I really have no idea why. Like, I'm going to think of them later and laugh really hard at inappropriate times.

I found that this did precisely what it advertised and I enjoyed reading the posts on the Tumblr.

That Finding Nemo one looks pretty much like the animation in that "Shark Tale" rip-off movie...

I don't know why this is so funny, I honestly don't, but I am crying from laughter right now.

I love the one of Edna Mode in The Incredibles.

These make my brain both happy and horrified, much like weird video game glitches.

This is so wonderfully stupid. Thank you.

The best things about the Edna Moda one is the giant iStockPhoto logo in the sky in the background.

If the guy doing these has a few thousand spare years free I'd love to see his remake of Toy Story.

Watching some of those videos, I've thought "Wow, I could probably crank out that animation in Lightwave". Which says not much about my 3D skills, and much about Veggie Tales.
