Ah, he did the cover for My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts. Even if he does get the actual title of the album wrong on his own website, that's worth a bonus point or two in my book.

he did the cover for My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts A good album with nice cover art, but it pales in comparison to the work he did for Factory Records, Joy Division in particular. Also, looking through his catalog I finally understand why I used to always pause on Peter Gabriel's So when flipping through used record bins, thinking it was a New Order or Factory release.

This book about Factory's visual output is fascinating. I also have Designed by Peter Saville which is good, but nowhere near as comprehensive as I want.

Joy Division in particular May as well add New Order to the list too. He's almost like a fifth Beatle for that band (or maybe 6th)

My first OMD album, which was also one of the first albums I bought for myself, made me feel like I lived in the future. The future is die-cut. The sleeve design for OMD's single release Red Frame/White Light was also apparently originally conceived as a die-cut affair. The prototype was on show at Saville's design exhibition back in 2003.

It's funny, how much that guy was a part of my existence in the eighties. For my sixteenth birthday party, my mother made a cake decorated with a spot-on recreation of the stylized face on the cover of Rage in Eden and I gelled my hair to match and tied a little bow to the end of my rattail.

It's amazing he got so much done considering his reputation for being later with everything Peter's nickname is Playboy Pete and she said that he would be the last to deny his playboy-ish tendencies. Referring to his notorious tendency to be late delivering every project, she said that he is "the world's most exasperating professional". Apparently, he was 3 hours late for the launch of his own book, 'Designed by Peter Saville'. Half jokingly she hinted that Peter has yet to turn on a computer(!).
