"Idle's work in Python is often characterised by an obsession with language and communication: many of his characters have verbal peculiarities, such as the man who speaks in anagrams, the man who says words in the wrong order, and the butcher who alternates between rudeness and politeness every time he speaks." - from the wikipedia entry

Please tell me that Idle has better plans than becoming the next generation's Benny Hill. At least the cast list promises more than that song did.

Yes, he should uphold Monty Python's exacting standards of good taste and considered restraint, and remember the subtle and gentle humor that made him famous!

Can we construe from this that Idle has abandoned his life's work of endlessly recycling everything that people liked about Python until it has been ground into a fine powder and carried off by the breeze?

If the man does nothing for the rest of his life but drool into a cup and then dump the contents on unsuspecting pedestrians below his hotel window, I'd still put him in the pantheon of Comedic Gods.
And avoid his hotel.

Is he abusing short bald men in the presence of large-breasted women again? Geeze. The Devil finds work for Idle's hands, indeed.

My favorite Eric Idle sketch (from his 1970's solo series, Rutland Weekend Television).

I must say, there's is nothing in this video which gives me cause to revise my opinion of Idle as either songwriter, or humorist (low, in both cases).

Well I for one can't wait to get a closer look at Eric Idle's Dick.
Bonus points if Tim Curry plays Eddie Izzard's father.

They are quite clearly, and correctly, saying ARSEstrology. Because they are British, and correct.
