Fast tracking kebal - Plugging the cord into an electric socket, I was instructed to place my foot on top of one of the plates. Pak Edi held the other plate under his own foot, and immediately his leg began to quiver from the electric current.

Bus terminals. Many years ago on my way to visit Mount Bromo I stayed overnight at Probolinggo [^Purchase any tickets directly at the bus terminal, as the local travel agents are notoriously mercenary and will happily charge you multiples of the real price and/or fake return tickets]. I was approached by an affable young man who invited me into the waiting room at the bus station. There was a crowd of delightful young people inside. We chatted amiably and photographs were taken. A good time was being had by all. In the meantime I was asked if I would like somebody to go and buy my ticket for me – "Sure, thanks for that". Later, on the bus on the way to Bromo a guy checking/selling tickets asks me for mine. When I show it to him he gives me the look and I shell out for a real ticket.

Yeah, except their superhumanity is totally imaginary, which they'll quickly discover the first time they put it to the test. So I don't expect all of them to last for too long.
