Holy crap that guy at 3:25. But why is it the people who do the most incredible things physically like wing suiting or downhill biking nearly all set their videos to ridiculous music? (Seriously, the consistency is interesting and there must be some kind of explanation.)

My theory about the pervasive annoying music associated with these types of videos is that we're hearing an original work written and sung by a friend with his/her band, perhaps to avoid royalty payments or just because doing it that way is so very very rad. The article Aelfwine Evensong linked, which I had not seen despite its similar analogies to Iron Man and dolphins, has good close-up pictures of the rigs and the price: £4200.

Perhaps the musical taste is cultural. These people are often Europeans. French, in this case, German and Swiss in the case of the videos postcommunism linked.

When you see the enormous volume of propellant necessary to keep a man aloft even for a few seconds, it really makes Iron Man and other characters with rocket boots seem ridiculous.
