BRAVEST WARRIORS!!! From Pendleton 'Adventure Time' Ward, it's a new, somewhat more adult (mild profanity & alien relationships) sci-fi cartoon about Second Generation Heroes who are kind-of-dorks. Here's an earlier version he did for Nickelodeon's Random Cartoons, but the new series is made for Fred 'Frederator' Seibert's Cartoon Hangover YouTube Channel.
That was fun. I'm basically signed up for anything Pen Ward cares to do. Thanks for posting.

I'd give it a chance and watch a bit more, but I really just want to watch more Adventure Time instead.

The earlier "Bravest Warriors" short can be watched here (which is surprisingly still online).

"Time Slime" was definitely not perfect, but it was still a fun way to fill a few minutes. Even Adventure Time took a while to figure itself out. I'll be happy to see where it goes.

(I am almost thinking of bailing on somewhat of an obligation on Monday night so I can stay home to watch the new Adventure Time episodes. Almost. It's a tough choice, I must say.)

(I am almost thinking of bailing on somewhat of an obligation on Monday night so I can stay home to watch the new Adventure Time episodes. Almost. It's a tough choice, I must say.)

Any obligation worth attending to would include watching the new AT episodes. It was a cliffhanger, come on!

I liked this episode, but curiously the tie-in comic from a week or two ago was much funnier and seemed to have itself figured out a lot more. I'm not sure what that implies...

Yeah, I agree. The comic book was much better.

Given that adventure time is no longer online, and isn't carried by any Canadian channels, I'll take this substitute gladly, thanks!

If you haven't seen the Bravest Warriors comic book, here's a preview. I love how Pen Ward has been utilizing some of the more talented webcomickers in his deadtree comics (Ryan 'Dinosaur Comics' North, Meredith 'Octopus Pie' Gran, and many guest writers/artists), but I was dumbstruck that for this one he went with Joey Comeau, whose 'A Softer World' is so... so... well...

@Kittens for breakfast - There are several dynamics that explain why issue 1 of Bravest Warriors had "itself figured out a lot more".

One, the comic was written well after all of the episodes. Production time on Bravest Warriors means that these first episodes were storyboarded and written early last spring and were just finished last week. The comic book was written after most of the 12, five minute episodes were written.

Two, comic books contain much more "information density" or whatever then a five minute cartoon. I think, I am sure I am not alone, that comics can literally be more funny because they skip all sorts of narrative things that animation need to do to.
