A lot of those images are from The Atlantic's photo blog, In Focus, which has the captions and credits.

Brandon beat me to it. This is a shame, but as a general rule if a Livejournal (russian language or not) posts a bunch of images, tineye.com will tell you were they were originally from and it's very often a US newspaper.
