"Statement from Alice Walton, Chair of The Board of Directors" A spoof. Or is it a hack? Either way, it's spectacularly well-crafted.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Neither spoof nor hack is really be super post-worthy if it's just "person pretending to be rich person says things we'd like to think rich person would actually say". -- cortex

That museum is run by Alice Walton. So it is probably not a spoof. Whether it is a hack, I've no idea.

The Crystal Bridges Museum website (crystalbridges.org, not crystalbridgesfoundation.org) doesn't say anything about it. The Foundation website appears to be a clone of the Museum website except for the front page note. All of the links lead to crystalbridges.org, which is suspicious. Finally, the domain registrar information for the two sites is different, which you wouldn't expect if they were both owned by the same organization.

So, a spoof.

Yeah, the easiest tell (without double-checking the URLs) is that if you click the breadcrumbs to go to the "news" index, the November 20 release doesn't show up in the listed releases. Still pretty good! I was so hoping it was for real ...

Crystal Bridges sounds like a porn star name.

Spoof. Oddly, the spoof site links more clearly to the real social media (which gives away that it's a spoof) than the real site does.

Why would they spoof a museum, and not Walmart itself?
