This is great. It picks up the kind of post-Britain imagery that was begun in the 1960s. By making it playful and ironic they break down whatever leftover meaning it may have held. The past is a pastiche to be picked up and played with as you will. We can say these things and makebelieve that we are these people, simple for the fact that we no longer are.

Let me tell you, as an American living in Britain oh these many years, you fucking well should apologise for Piers Morgan. I'd take an American Private Eye, plus Ian Hislop, any day though. At least I know that once, in a douche-off, Jeremy Clarkson punched Morgan apparently. As far as I can tell, in recent years we've sent over Richard Hall, Reginald Hunter, Elizabeth McGovern, in the plus column, and yes, sorry, Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow in the minus.
